November Update

We have begun our study of Native Americans and their removal from Georgia. We will have a test over this before Thanksgiving holidays. I am anticipating the test being next Wednesday, November 17th.

It is time to pick our grade level representative for the school Geography Bee. We will hold preliminary rounds in the Georgia History classes and have a playoff round if needed. This will be before Thanksgiving, so be brushing up on those Geography facts.

We are going on a FIELD TRIP!! The 8th grade is taking a field trip to Andersonville and Plains on Wednesday, December 1. The students received their permission forms today(November 10) in class. We need those back no later than Monday, November 15th. The cost of the field trip is $16.00 and you will be billed by the finance office. Students will also need money for lunch. We eat lunch at Yoder's Restaurant in Montezuma and everyone always enjoys it!!:)

In preparation for the field trip and our study of the Civil War, we watch the movie Andersonville. This is a great movie that accurately depicts the camp as it was during the Civil War. The movie is not rated, however there is some language in the movie. If you have any concerns about your child watching the movie, please let me know.
