I have graded the students projects and put those in the gradebook. The students did an outstanding job on their presentations. I am so proud of them. I have also listed this quarters participation grades, so the average you see is their second quarter average. Remember that the midterm exam will count 15% of the first semester average with both the first and second quarters counting 42.5%.
By a majority vote of the class, our exam has been moved to Thursday, December 16th during their P.E time. This means that your student DOES NOT have to come to school on Friday if they are finished with everything.
I have enjoyed each and every day with your children this semester and look forward to the rest of the year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

December Update
We had a WONDERFUL time on our Field Trip to Andersonville and Plains. The students were awesome that day and we had such a good time! Even Mrs. Williams, our guide in Plains, commented on how well behaved the students were and how engaged they were with the tour! THANK YOU 8th GRADE!!
This week, we will be going over chapter 11. This is a short chapter on life in Georgia before the Civil War. Because of time constraints, we will not have a test on this, but the material WILL BE on the midterm. Students received their midterm review packets on Friday. We will quickly go over these and I will answer any questions on Wednesday in class. If students have any questions about anything in the packet, plese have them come see me to get an explanation.
On Thursday, we will begin our presenations on their projects. I am looking forward to these! If you have any questions on the project, please let me know.
The Georgia History midterm will be given in the first exam period on Friday, December 17. Students are not allowed to leav until the exam period is over at 10:00. The Georgia History midterm will be matching, true/false, fill in the blank, and short answer. There will also be 8 discussion questions, of which they choose 3 to answer.
