Week of September 27- October 1

Students received the information on their first quarter project today in class. This project will count as ten percent of their first quarter average.

The students are to create a timeline of events during the Revolutionary War period. The timeline must contain at least ten events and have illustrations. Students were given a handout of the events to help in their research. The project is due FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2010. I will not accept late projects.

We have colony quiz tomorrow(Tuesday) over the 13 original colonies. Students were given the map last Thursday. Please remember, spelling counts!!

There will be a county quiz on Friday over week six. I plan on the last test for the quarter being Wednesday, October 6th.

Week of September 20-24

Due to Homecoming activities on Friday, there will be NO COUNTY QUIZ on Friday, September 24. We will pick up with quizzes the next week. We will have a test over Chapter 6 on Wednesday, September 22. I will begin reviewing on Monday in class and students will have a study guide.

On Thursday, we will go over the vocabulary for the next chapter. I will also be giving students a map of the American colonies. We will have a quiz over these colonies on TUESDAY, September 28.

Please remember that if your child is absent for any reason, they are responsible for seeing me for what work they missed and making up that work.

Week of September 13-17

We are nearing the halfway point of the first quarter of 8th grade! Right now,we are learning about James Oglethorpe and the first days of the Georgia colony. We are continuing with our county quizzes and will have a quiz on list 5 Friday.

I am planning on our test over chapter 6 being Wednesday, September 22. We will not have a county quiz next week, September 24, due to Homecoming activities.

TEST TOMORROW

We are having a test tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8th. We reviewed for the test today in class and students know that they should study their notes, study guide, and explorer worksheet.

Remember that we are having a county quiz this week. We are currently on week four of the list.

Week of September 6-10

I hope everyone enjoys the Labor Day Weekend. Students received a Study Guide for Chapter Five. They had time to begin in class on Friday and should complete the study guide over the weekend. We will go over the study guide on Tuesday and have our test on Wednesday. We WILL have a county quiz on Friday even though it is a four day week, so please make sure your student is looking over their counties each night.
